What you describe is not a typical 'crash'. A Crash does not wipe out just one application and all of it's associated user created files. That sounds more like a virus / malware attack. You absolutely need the Product Key to install/re-install Office. Without the Key, you don't have Office. You will have to find your product key. Since you mention a box, I assume you mean you have/had the big ugly yellow plastic CD holder box. In that situation you are totally reposonsible for keeping track of your own product key. MS will provide no help other than $$$ $elling $$$ you a copy of OFFICE 2013 (they don't sell 2010 any more). Try one of the following tools to extract the key from your current computer, or any other computer you have used the key on. Do you have an image copy backup of the system before the problem. Your 'best' (tongue firmly in cheek) best bet is to contact the MS Phone Activation center and ask for help. Instead of selecting internet activation, select phone activation. That will provide you with the appropriate phone number. When you phone in, don't reply to the initial prompts. Wait, a long time, until they offer you the option of talking to a live 'service' rep. Be prepared to waste a lot of time.
